Wye Float 2018 Event Information
Please read all the information below, which details everything you need to know prior to Wye Float 2018.
Key Event Timings:
09:00hrs Car Park and Events Area opens for participants and spectators.
10:00hrs Food Vendors open for services, and low level entertain begins.
11:00hrs Wye Float Opening Ceremony, Guest Speaker and Safety Brief
12:00hrs Inflatable Float Begins in wave groups.
12:15hrs Charity guest speakers
15:00hrs Last Float leave Hereford Rowing Club and alcohol sales begin.
16:00hrs After Party and Live Music begins at Hereford Rowing Club
22:00hrs Event Closes
Final instructions/ details for Wye Float 2018 will be emailed out to all participants prior to the event taking place. This will contain all the information participants need to have a trouble-free day out on the River Wye.
A condensed version of the essential Final Instructions will be posted on our website and will be available to download during the build up to the event.
What happens next?
Ahead of Event Day, ALL participants wishing to take place in Wye Float 2018 are required to register by purchasing a ticket from our authorised ticket website or designated outlets in Hereford. Please check our online store for more information about purchasing tickets from our outlet stores (including opening hours, locations and how to there). It is important that you take a couple of minutes to read our website and fully understand what the event is all about before purchasing tickets. Registering for Wye Float 2018
Part 1 - The Registration/ Ticket Purchase
When you purchase tickets from our online store you will be required to provide us your personal information, which will be used to contact you and send out important information. Please ensure all your details are correct before clicking submit, as this cannot be changed.
Part 2- Preparation for the event
Please ensure you have read the required equipment and kit list to ensure you remain safe on the day of the event. Allow yourself plenty of time to purchase required equipment if necessary as this will not be available to hire or purchase on the day. If you require advise on anything relating to kit and equipment please message us on Facebook for a quick response.
What to do if you can’t attend after a purchase
If for any reason you cannot attend Wye Float 2018, it is not the end of the world. We will allow you to nominate someone to attend on your behalf, however you cannot resell this ticket. Please use your original e-ticket sent out to the email provided at purchase. This will get scanned on the day to avoid duplicated tickets. Please inform the team if this is the case. Thanks.
As this is a charity event we are unable to provide refunds, as your ticket is a donation to our nominated charities and this cannot be reversed.

Getting to the start
A map and the address of the start point (Hereford Rowing Club) is available to download and view below.

You can find all the information you need to travel to the start point on the event day in your Final Instructions, which will be sent out prior to the event.
You can get to the designated start area via the following transport options:
Hereford Train Station is the only option for this type of transport within in the city. This station receives all major railway links and is approximately 1 mile from Hereford Rowing Club and can be found by using the following postcode: HR1 1DA
Limited Parking is available at Hereford Rowing Club, please use the following postcode for your Sat Nav: HR4 0BE. A parking charge of £3 will be taken on the gate, please ensure you have change to help us speed up this process.
Parking at the finish is available at Vincent Carey Road, Hereford (Rotherwas Industrial Estate). Please see further information regarding this.

Outfall Works Road,
After you have reached the finish line, you should move away from the river bank as quickly as possible. Please leave the river via the designated exit point only. Volunteers will be able to assist you in deflating and packing away your equipment ready to return to the start point for the after party and a bite to eat. The after party will begin at 16:00hrs and will include a range of live music and entertainment.
A detailed walking map will be printed within the event program which can be purchased on the day of the event and signs will be along the walking route. There may be a return shuttle bus service operating on the day of the event to take participants from the finish line to the start (small fee will apply).
